We are a small shop offering Japanese crafts,
antiques, vintage items, and timeworn tools-each with a story to tell.
Here at kinsuien , we believe that certain treasures, through the grace of time and the touch of human hands, quietly awaken into
tsukumogami|-spirits born from care, memory,
and presence.
Some may feel beautifully nostalgic.
Some may feel mysteriously dear.
Others may simply give you courage, just by being near.
We invite you to explore and find something that speaks to your heart.
May Kinsuien be the gateway that opens the
beautiful realm.

kinsuien は漢字で琴翠園とかきます。
これはこのgalleryが その昔 琴の音のように美しい響きの穏やかな波が打ち寄せる
琴 の 海と呼ばれた、翠の海を臨むことに由来します。
このgalleryでご紹介する品々は、
様々な時を経て、主に大正から昭和初期に、ここ琴翠園にご縁がつながり
大切にお迎えした品々です。
骨董と呼ばれる時代物から、昭和のレトロもの、そして現代の道具や作品
携わった人々が魂を吹き込んだ品々...。
このgalleryを訪れてくれた皆様とご縁がありますように
そして そばに寄り添い新たな主のもとで
愛され居場所を見つけ、何かを支える力になりますように…。

Greeting
Kinsuien is written in Kanji as 琴翠園.
Its name is inspired by the gallery’s location—once known as Koto-no-Umi, the “Sea of the Koto,” where gentle, jade-colored waves echoed with a beauty reminiscent of the koto’s melody.
The tsukumogami we introduce here at Kinsuien are items that have journeyed through time. Most of the items are pieces that found their way here mainly during the Taisho to early Showa period.
These cherished pieces found their way to Kinsuien through meaningful connections and have been lovingly welcomed and preserved.
From antiques of historical value, to retro treasures of the Showa period, to modern tools and works of art—each one is an object into which someone has poured their soul.
We hope that a special bond may form between you and these items as you visit this gallery.
May they find a new place to belong by your side, be loved once again, and become a quiet source of strength in your life.
